First off, sorry this site has been so quiet. There's been lots of developments on OCC, but they haven't necessarily translated into articles on this site. New Year's Resolution? Maybe...
There have been a number of clients who've been seeking solutions to the following problem:
"How do I send an email to all members who have to renew, without sending it to those who either already have, or who are honorary life members and don't need to renew?"
This is a good question, and until now there hasn't been a good solution. Once subs expire, you can of course target just those who haven't renewed by using the yourclub-expiring@occ email address. But we want to remind them before they're overdue.
You could limit an email to a member type, so you could avoid sending a message to the Life Member category, but that was only part of the problem. All regular members would still get the message regardless of whether they'd already paid or not.
So, here's the solution. If you want to target those members whose renewals fall within the next 45 days, simply address your email to yourclub-due45@occ. For other ranges, just change the number, ie due30, due60, due14 and so on.
For any club operating with a renewal anniversary model, this will make contacting those due for renewal a lot less hassle.
Enjoy!
