Regalia / Merchandise

We're working on improvements to OCC to support the recording of sales of assets to members. At the moment you only really have the option of using a Custom Info record to link a member to items for sales, which works OK, but could be better. At the same time the Assets module allows you to record 'Merchandise' type items, and quickly mark off sales of them, but there is no record of who purchased them. Functions like emailing receipts and so on are not available as they are in Member Subs and Event participation.

The general design is a table called 'Sales' which links Member to Asset directly, and has attributes such as Quantity, Size, Date Ordered, Date Paid, Date Supplied and so on. Only Assets with the "Is Merchandise" flag checked appear in the drop-down, so you can't accidentally sell your club trailer!
If an Asset has a Stock on Hand value, recording of items Supplied (by entering the Supplied Date) automatically decrease the Stock on Hand by the quantity purchased.

The plan is to offer a one-click email receipt, that will combine all items Paid For on the same date on a single receipt. Additionally, there will be some preconfigured reports that can be used to pull together an order list for a supplier, or a pick-list for a member.

Any feedback, suggestions would be most welcome. It is always easier to incorporate new features or changes to data structure before something is being used in anger, as it were.
